Would be a fantastic way for him to go out winning the Rally and the Championship.

Though it will be hard with Ireland being Tarmac - hope over the 2 final ones (Last Rally GB) he does it - Huge pity he is retiring.

Yep, wont be the same without him around the WRC.

Fingers crossed it comes together, but he's no tarmac expert for sure.

Loeb looked fantastic when he did the Cork 20 rally, I can't see Marcus beating him this weekend.. Let's hope for rally GB though

I imagine Loeb will win in Ireland, but as long as Gronholm gets 2nd or 3rd then he has a great chance, as I would expect him to be favourite for Wales.

Should be an awesome end to the season.

With something like 36 ? WRC cars entered I fear Marcus may struggle to come away with a second or third.
I really hope he can, and thus go to rally GB with the upper hand (nothing against Seb Loeb, I just want Marcus to take another title before he leaves Loeb with virtually no competion next year frown )

He will likley be top 4 but likely to loose the lead going into Rally GB - but hopefully will then swing back to him, but likely be on the back foot even though nearer to his fav type surfaces (loose).

Fingers crossed for Marcus. One of the sports most flambuyant and charasmatic drivers.

Nowt against Leob, he's just a bit too boring for my tastes, thats all.
He is good at back flips thoughwink

I dont think the local guys are going to trouble the leaderboard too much, Marcus certainly had no problem with them on the Galway rally earlier this year, so unless something goes wrong for him he should be ok.

Watch out for Kris Meeke though...

Agree totally, but they've got nothing to lose (I think Marcus REALLY wants this drivers championship irrespective of how coy he's being about it) one small slip by MG and ALL is lost, one small slip by any of the local boys and they'll go down as being a legend for equalling or beating a top WRC driver on tarmac . . . .

I reckon Loeb will take the win in Ireland followed by Sordo. Marcus will be a close third though and will hopefully go onto win in Wales as I`d love to see him have the Championship befor ehe retires.

I dont think the locals will be on the pace of the WRC boys as they`re in a different league, another gear up. Donnelly might make it into the top 8 perhaps in his recently aquired Fabia as he can drive the balls off anything.

Ones to watch for me are Andreas Mikkelsen, Meeke and Wilks, all have Irish Tarmac experience.

Whatever, it`s going to be a great weekend biggrin

Marcus .9 of a second ahead of Loeb after the special stage, it's looking good for him so far. And it's looking GREAT for Kris Meeke, .1 of a second behind loeb!

None of the local will figure by half distance - come on Marcus.

Fair enough, except the last time I read this thread, it was about wishing Marcus luck, not the results.

I may have overworded my post, but Im looking forward to a new rally and was a bit miffed to see the major news .
