It's all speculation at the moment, but my goodness would that be a turn up for the books

I doubt it'll happen. I'm not even sure it should happen. Hamilton for 2008 would be good, though.

I'd be amazed if that were true. Expect a fudge ruling.

Remember the original FIA V McLaren result that came out a couple of hours before the real ruling? I think we'd written about 10 pages about how outrageous the result was (McLaren banned from F1 iirc) before that was retracted...

I hope that Lewis is given the title...

Not because he deserves it, KIMI should be champ, but because the midget in charge of F1 has said he would resign if Lewis is made champ.

So come on, let's celebrate Lewis winning, but more importantly, the start of the break up of F1 with Bernie resigning, followed by a public witch hunt for Mosley to resign.

Then we can start 2008 with a brighter future for F1 smile

Under what reason is he to be given the title? Is it that BMW weren't allowed so disqualified so more points to Lewis for Brazil?

If BMW and Williams were ruled to be running illegally then the Judges have the power to:

Diqualify the team
Disqualify the drivers
Adjust the results to move the lower placed drivers up, taking account of the disqualifications

This would allow Lewis to have enough points to be declared champion. But it's unlikely, given that Max and Bernie have given their ruling.

basically if bmw and williams are disqualified, then hamilton gets bumped up 2 places so he gets enuf points to win the title. ill admit im a hamilton fan, but i wouldnt want to see him win it this way. however if you take this race as any other race and not just the championship decider bmw and williams would have been disqualified by now....so you have to ask yourself if mclaren are right in appealing, of course they are!....if it were ferrari in mclarens position and mclaren had just won the title, they too would be appealing, when you have worked so hard all year to build a car and your sponsors have invested so much money you have to try and get a balanced result. personally i agree with mclaren, there needs to be a line drawn somewhere and a president set for this type of infringment, afterall williams and bmw cheated...just like mclaren, renault and ferrari have this year...yet mclaren are the only ones to be penilised so far?.....sounds like the fia need to get some consistancy somewhere, and personally i think it needs to start here.

But the most hated champ in history unfortunately. I actually think that would be the worst thing for Hamilton if he was given the title now.

A news wire is quoting an insider that Hamilton has been awarded the WDC. No statement being released while senior FIA members are reportedly on an emergency conference call on how to void the decision. Ferrari have threatened to legal action and Mclaren have declined the title.

It seems the lawyers on the appeal panel ignored the pressure from Mosley and Ecclestone and applied the letter of the law/regulations regardless of the outcome.

Read my post, I would be happy because Bernie would resign if Lewis was given the title, and then we'd just hppe that Mad Max would follow shortly after smile

That sounds like a great result. Being given and declining it. Kicks Mosley right into touch.

My Mr Tozzi-Kettle, you're looking black today.

For Ferrari of all people to suggest this would be a grubby way to win is nothing short of hilarious.

"Just to show we can".

Of course, this is all speculation but I wait with baited breath!
