I don't understand why Tozzi get's to speak anyway? This has nothing to do with the red team (except of course they could lose the WDC wink) This is merely about BMW/Williams and Maclaren's protest.

I think the BBC article is a wind up though, I'd like it to be true though, win/win for me, the rule is clarified, the teams that broke rules are treated in accordance with the rules but LH doesn't have to get his first WDC in this way.

The red team were of course gifted the Constructors championship in this way but that doesn't seem to offend people for some reason? confused

However precident is that if after a race someone is found to have run an illegal car they are removed as if they didn't run and everybody below them shuffles up a place.
Except that last time there was a fuel irregularity, the teams lost their points but the drivers kept theirs.

Exactly, Ferrari won the constructors through the courts so what the hell are they complaining about.

Deep down Kimi must know he was lucky this year to end up as champion.

What's to say Hamilton will be bumped up 3 places? Surely they can disqualify the racers, but keep the positions as they are?
They could give the championship to the guy who finished last, it's their sport. However precident is that if after a race someone is found to have run an illegal car they are removed as if they didn't run and everybody below them shuffles up a place.

Unless your ferrari and have a flexible floor, then it's rule book 2 you need. The ink's still wet on that one as they are currently making it up as they go along.
It's just that Bernie said he saw no reason for Hamilton to be bumped up places if the racers were disqualified anyway.

That would be because he's a Ferrari-bummer though.

Going back to Bernie, after he goes there will be a huge vacuum of power. Think about Ferrari after Enzo died- years of in-fighting between rival people as to who will control F1. The same thing could happen with F1. If he goes (or when, as he's not the youngest person in the world) then what happens then? Who is his successor?

With Max, it would come from within the FIA. With Bernie?

What a load of old wank. Personally I would like to see Kimi's title stand, I was a massive LH fan this season (indeed this year has got me actively interested in F1 again after a period of several years) but it would be utterly hollow for him. His reputation is already amazing and if he wins it this way it will tarnish his already superb achievements. Titles will come.

Being awarded it and declining so Kimi retains it would be ace though, combining a poke in the eye for Ferrari and enhancing McLaren's status as the fair play, dignified chaps they are.

To me the point re Bernie makes me think that he doesn't care about the sport, if he cared surely he would have a sucessor lined up to avoid any damage or uncertaintly?

Yes, does make you wonder if all this might just have the air of truth about it?

It only took them 1 day when they decided to kick McLaren out of the championship and fine them the mother of all fines, wonder why this is taking so long, maybe Max'n'Bernie are appealing the appeal.

This now on Pitpass:

Court of Appeal rejects McLaren claim
"Although it has yet to be officially confirmed, we hear that the International Court of Appeal has rejected McLaren's appeal against the result of the Brazilian GP and that consequentlyu the World Championship standings remain unchanged.
We repeat this is not officially confirmed but does come from a very good source"

Considering they are now an hour ahead of us, so it's nearly 6pm there as they reconvened to Paris last night, it does smell a bit how long this is taking.

Can't be true. Doesn't say "McLaren are fined $100 million for daring to question the authority of the FIA"

They're probably on strike.
