TOP GEAR -
James and I will be going to the Top Gear Studio's on Wednesday (5th December) and after we have spoken with the producers we will be able to confirm exactly what time and when the 24 Hour footage will be on the BBC........

Does that mean it will be 60 minutes of coverage? Seems likely they'll have enough material to fill it.

It looks like it will just be a report in a normal episode unfortunately.frown It's a shame as it would have been a great one to do as an hour special. They certainly had enough material for it!

If the programme is in the same order as yesterday's recording, there will be an intro and a short piece of film showing preparation and qualifying, then, at the end of the show, a longer film showing the race (around 15 or more minutes).

In my view, this is the most dynamic and ispirational piece of footage that has ever been produced about Britcar.

I'm not going to spoil anything, but regular Britcar "personalites" should look out for the milli-second cut of themselves in the film.

Watch it and be amazed. I must admit to having the merest hint of moisture in the corner of my eye, such was my pride ar being associated with the event.

Obviously haven`t seen it but can totally identify with your sentiments.

Whatever our thoughts with regard to individual areas of the EERC no one can deny the good this will do and the pride that must and should be felt by all involved in the organisation.

I still don`t think they should have let James on the telly though - he`s going to be hell to live with in 2008. Now we`ll all have to have the right kind of water in the fridge at the right temperature together with the correct fruit arranged as per his instructions, two bowls of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed, bendy straws and celery (trimmed not peeled) before he will grant you an audience in your garage. smile

Unless it was done in private, there was no cup-giving ceremony, so don't expect to see JT presenting the cups on the show.

You might catch him, or Wendy, or Claire, or Mandy in the background, though they did make a point of shuffling the crowd around so that, in their words, the ugly people, or those with the wrong colour shirts, got moved to the back. That was me out on both counts.

We'll have to wait and see. This is from the EERC web site:-

A Great day was had with the Top Gear Team, we arrived in convoy EERC Van and Three cars all Decalled, got our vip wrist bands, whilst James went off to present the prizes, we had lunch.

Clarkson said off camera that it had taken him 47 years to realise how much fun driving a racing car was, and that it was so easy. However, my thought is, unless it forms part of the programme, they are unlikely to come back as Team Top Gear, because now they've been there and done that.
