I have a genuine Senna autograph and this one doesn't look the same as mine....unless Senna suffered from Parkinson's disease that is....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

....should I tell him though?.....

...or maybe mine isn't genuine?....

...but it did come via Alan Rees, whose provenance I regard as slightly stronger than a man in Spain!

Buyer beware, I believe. I'm probably wrong though....

Surely any buyer would be suspicious of a vendor who can't even spell his name?

A number of examples here:

Remember that writing on the 3D surface of a helmet is going to tend to distort one's signature.

The advert says it was signed by Airton Senna, whoever he is.

It's the final scribble that is wrong. But I do accept the fact that he cannot guarantee total uniformity, although both Mansell and Schumacher seem to have a degree of consistency in their autographs.

Anyway, the deal has clearly fallen through - it's been relisted...perhaps the purchaser is a PH reader!

He sold it for £310 and I see he has a Schumacher signed visor that again looks a bit iffy to me...Schuey is incredibly consistent with his signatures and this one is incredibly inconsisent....Can't comment on his Webber visor - I don't have anything signed by MW

Well if it is a genuine unused F1 spec. helmet it looks like a bargain even without the signature.

A family friend, who used to work for a F1 team, has a genuine, race used Senna helmet.

Unfortunately, due to its value it has to be kept in a bank vault and, even though he could probably pay off his mortgage with the proceeds, he has vowed never to sell it as it was given to him by the man great man himself.

I have done but don't think he will ever sell it due to the sentimentality attached.

Mind you, I do find it hard to believe that someone would be willing to pay thousands of pounds for it, although I guess it must be quite rare.

As he won't ever sell it, have said he would be better off loaning it to a motor museum as at least people will get to see it then. Think its a bit of a waste, having it just sit there in a bank vault.

Still, his choice I guess.

I remember an Ebay item posted on here once which was a signature of Ayrton Senna on a Rothmans Williams card (no driver in the car). Unfortunately it was a 1995 Williams.

Only a year out then!
