I don't wish to be rude but it seems odd SamHH that you're waving your hands about what ought or ought not to be discussed yet you seem to have a very scant knowledge of the subject?

It always amuses me that whenever someone pops up saying how dreadful it is that the N word is mentioned it creates more discussion than the original post that contained the N word or reference to N'ism laugh
I don't know what you mean by "waving your hands". I'm not attempting to dictate what topics should or should not be discussed here. If that's what you think, then I may have miscommunicated.

I'm referring to the throwing up of hands of "don't mention the war" type response which someone always leaps up with everytime there is a MM thread.

I think I know enough about Max Mosley's family to form valid opinions on the topic. In what way do you think my lack of knowledge about Max Mosley's family makes my opinions incorrect?
You didn't appear to be clear on who his mother was which, considering as Flemke says, she was fairly influential leads me to question the extent of your knowledge. Diana (Mitford) Mosely is at least as much discussed as Oswald and history says, was very supportive of his cause and those of his friends - the location and witnesses for their wedding is fairly indicative of that.

She is worthy of a Google in her own right.
I think this article in the Telegraph is quite interesting http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml?xml=...

The general history of the Mitford sisters is also worth a read.

Anyway, as I said, these discussions only serve to increase the amount of words spent in discussing the subject.
