I didn't see the show, but my mother (bless her) said that LH looked rather pished off when his name was called as 2nd place, and looked less than happy clapping for the winner.
I'm just glad we didnt get the extended '2nd place speech' similar to when he came 2nd in F1.
Shame for Toseland, to win a WSB on a non-Ducatti bike is something to be very proud of.

I am impressed by Lewis' comments after the awards show, just as I was impressed by his comments after the Jerez testing.
Let's hope he keeps this up. Otherwise I may have to risk incurring some posters' displeasure again with my comments ; )
On a lighter note, here is a link to "James Allan's Verdict on Lewis Hamilton":

I particularly like:
"As a man he has a unique charisma, as Ayrton did; when he enters a room everything stops, you cannot take your eyes off him."

Two years ago Allen also said, "I love the way that Alonso walks around the paddock.".http://www.itv-f1.com/Feature.aspx?Type=James_Alle...

Hamilton has plenty of oportunity to win the prize in the future and I think that may have been a factor in the public voting going the way it did - although that may also be complaceny on the part of those who thought Hamilton was a shoe-in.
I couldn't afford to vote for him, I spent my last 35 pence on Same Difference on Saturday night.

Assume he meant to say "for the win" as well

Are you sure!? 29,000 Brits in Las Vegas to watch Hatton - more than travel to most GP's.
Nothing against motor racing, just popinting out that boxing is not that minority.
Interesting point - I might well be hopelessly wrong there! I was thinking about how many people I know that are into boxing, and how many times I've seen it on TV. From where I'm sitting, it seems like the most popular sports (in order) are football, rugby, F1 and tennis.Nothing against motor racing, just popinting out that boxing is not that minority.
I was dissapointed that Lewis didn't win it, but not surprised. Firstly, most people seem unaware of how physically demanding and difficult F1 is. It may sound shocking to those of us in the know, but when asked, most people would claim to be capable of making the back of the grid in an F1 race And secondly, most people are unaware of how exceptional Lewis has been in other formulae prior to F1.

Rather interesting that the top three had two boxers in though, given that boxing isn't a sport that many people watch.
Perhaps you win the award cos the judges are scared of you?Joe Kawasaki (or something like that) = unbeaten in 17 years
Lewis Hamilton = Karate black belt
Ricky Hatton = only knocked on his arse once in his pro career
James Toseland got 4th for audibly assaulting them on that piano.

Errr... I thought it was supposed to be nothing to do with how good you are at your particular sport. I was, obviously mistakenly, under the impression that it was supposed to be about the person, their personality, as a sportsman?Strangely Brown said:
