Close Ratio Gear Box

Guys - All other things being equal - A close ratio gear box straight cut in all five gears or a close ratio gear box straight cut in only fifth gear - is it going to make a huge amount of difference to the performance of the car?

Michael - in other words a dog box versus a standard box. A dog box won't make any difference in performance, will help with longevity

An alternative would be a close ratio big gear kit box, which has a proven track record in the cars. I have one which is 2 races old which is for sale now that i am going down the sequential route with the chevy

mmm is that a synchro box then, as my dog box has rather more bits in it than its supposed to...

I have both a dog box and the CTS close ratio big gear box (with ali bronze selector forks) for sale

Edited to say: yes the CTS box is a synchro box, sorry to omit the vital piece of info!!

Close ratio CTS box now sold, I still have the dog box and a standard synchro race box available (straight cut 5th) if anyone needs them.
