Autosport this week and the 2007 Year review

This week’s Autosport had a review of the 2007 season, from basic club racing to BTCC!

There was nothing about Britcar, absolutely nothing!

For those of us who rely on media coverage to gain sponsorship, I find this unbelievable!

You just beat me to it !!!

OK - we won so we have a vested interest! But, AutoSport gave coverage to the 'lowest' level of racing..even 2CVs! Yet Britcar, Britsports and PS1 had NO mention what so ever. There is ZERO marketing / communication for this series and it REALLY needs to be addressed! To have the entire motor racing season reviewed in a 'BUMPER' edition of AutoSport and for EERC to not be even mentioned is a disgrace!

You have to remember, to Autosnort, "Club Racing" is F3 or the British GT series.

"National Racing" is BTCC

Everything else is two lines and not important.

I stopped taking Motoring News because Autosport gave better race reports where MN was more rally orientated.

Now Autosnort is only interested in F1 an f all else.

I'm sure an Autosport reporter will appear on here and berate my comments.
Personally I don't give a flying, and I will be terminating my subscription at the show.

I quite expect to get banned from this forum for this, but Haymarket Publications (which owns Piston Heads) has lost the plot when it comes to balanced informative weekly "News Journals" for motorsport.

Not sure if it is Autosport or JT? There are 12 pages relating to Club racing and national racing, but nothing about EERC. Not even the 24hr race?

Still think it is down to how the EERC promote the season, even VdeV had a full page add to promote their series.

Read beyond the red mist of not being mentioned, and you'll find that Part 2 is in next week's issue.

......and there will probably be no mention in that edition, either!!!!!

Just as an aside why is it also that Britcar gets no mention in the MSA mag, "Motorsports Now", when it lists all the MSA championships? I thought Britcar was now an MSA regulated championship ?

Is it just because they`re embarrassed that this year`s victors Belly & Simon aren`t particularly.... photogenic (putting it politely).
