Not really suprising, he must be the first racing driver to lose his job because he was too
quick!!!

A great result for McLaren. They have swapped an expensive driver for someone who is almost certainly cheaper, but fast enough to get the more expensive driver worried that he would be shown up.

I am really hoping that McLaren, Lewis and Heikki can lead the pack and put Renault and Ferrari issues behind them both in mind and on the track.

Great news for a genuinely all round good guy. This is the break he needs.

Comes across as a well rounded individual and proof that the Finns can be interesting to listen to! Good choice....

Hopefully this will be another marker for alonso's over rated talent, if he fares up well against LH then he will be perfect for the team.
Another Finland/mclaren partnership is the order of the day.

2 young lads, both quick, hopefully in the fastest car. The current champ in a car about as good and a spurned champion in a slightly slower car.

Sounds like a stonking season.

Excellent news. I first took an interest in him when he cleaned up at the race of champions a couple or three years ago, beating the likes of Schumacher and McRae.

Great! I hope Alonslow's fears about Kovalainen are well founded!

07 may be the closest Hamilton gets to winning a championship for some time.
Ive said it b4 more as a hunch but reading about McL financial and technical (redesigning 08 car) setbacks its becoming a whole lot more real. And it's a pity as Id really like to see Kovalainen race Hamilton on equal terms.

Fingers crossed that they do start the season and with a half decent car.

I think being booted out of Renault will turn out to be the best move of his career! He'll give Hamilton some hassle, no doubt.

He should add Alonso to his xmas card list thats for sure!

But if they're in the same team, in an identical car, with a team that doesn't (officially) favour one driver over another surely that's the closest possible to being on equal terms???

I take your point that the 2008 McL might not be as good as this year's, but surely both drivers will have the same car???

Looking at what the FIA is doing to McLaren neither driver will have a car in 2008. No McLaren launch either, rollerskates at the ready or maybe a MacLaren baby buggie!!!
