What are the best coil packs to use on a RV8 with Emerald, would like to use two packs of 4.

The ford ones seem cheap but are they any good. or should I just buy them from triggerwheels.

Thanks
Leigh.

I'm using Ford ones. I've had no problems so far, but to be honest they haven't exactly been given a full durability test yet. Triggerwheels are the best place I've found for the connectors, but you can buy the coil packs from any decent motorfactor for rather less, and I've seen some apparently identical advertised on eBay that are *much* cheaper (but not bought from there yet so can't vouch for them).

I have some Cerb ones available now I'm going down the Chevy route. IN fact I have a load of Tuscan spares that I'll stick up for sale from body panels and moulds, through gearboxes/bellhousing/clutch/starters to wiring looms, brake pads... all sorts.

Would it be helpful for me to catalogue and price them and e mail a list round?

And just to be more more unhelpful, I'm using P38 Range Rover coil packs, Bosch manufactured, could be the same as the Ford ones, dont have a part number to hand sadly.

Just a thought but have you thought about asking Emerald themselves what they'd like you to use with their ECU ? I must admit I never have, and the coils I use (the peugeot versions fitted to cerberas) work perfectly as far as I can tell , but there *may* be a preferred coil pack otion .. but only they would really be able to tell you. I use the cerbie coils partly because i keep them in stock anyway but also because i have all the correct end connectors in to make bespoke length leads up for neat looking non-OE installs.

I've seen the Ford coil packs offered on eBay for £10-£15 each, and the connectors cost about the same. By the time you've bought two sets and included the postage etc I doubt you'd see much change out of sixty quid. On that basis, buying from Emerald with the piece of mind that you're getting exactly the right part seems like a reasonable option, but if you were buying them regularly you can save money elsewhere.
