Entry into Britcar

I don't see why an Ultima should be banned from Britcar...

Firstly there is nothing in the regs that would seem to outlaw it and if you want to take a more tangable example then how does an Ultima differ from a Mosler for example - other than the GT3 homologation which would only be relevant if the Moslers running were in that GT3 spec which they are not.

Ultima should be perfectly legal for Britcar. There's still one racing in Belcar and, as a vehicle, it's not really any different to a Mosler, as said above by 2PF.

I also did not see anything in the regs to eliminate the Ultima but I suppose at least I know now rather than mid season. Although I did not go into long discussion with James as he was adamant as soon as I mentioned the Ultima that it could not race in Britcar but his main concern seemed to be that more power is easily attainable – a little lame I thought as many of the cars can be tweaked easily. I am all for competitive racing and feel that with equal power to weight ratio to other road cars the Ultima is very capable in standard trim. I liked the idea that I could have a relatively low spec and standard V8 engine as this should help reliability and keep the bills down but it seems nobody wants to play. I am disappointed as the Britcar seems a great series so good luck to all the chaps in it.

Isn't that the reason to move towards PTW, if it's within the class limits who cares what it is, personally think the more the merrier
