Agree regarding the experience of one year. What I meant about the cars being the same was that both he and Fisi were driving the same crap car in the year Fisi beat him.

My personal view is that Button is an overrated under-achiever in the context of his peers.

I for one am glad to see Fisi still in F1. The only team mate that ever showed him up was Alonso and lets face it (whatever you think of him) he's capable of showing up most of the current grid.

I also believe Renault didn't suit him Flavio certainly disliked him and I dont care who you are if the boss doesn't like you its tough to perform at your best. I think moving teams will be like a breath of fresh air for Fisi and I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat Sutil on more than a couple of occasions.

And like many people have said experience is essential to a team lik Force India, development work will be easier and faster as a result and Fisi knows how to bring a car home. Finishing races is the life blood of a small team, if they manage to fluke a point (it'll probably take some luck) in the season it could be the difference between survival and failure in the following year. He's an excellent choice from the drivers Force India could have had.

I've always liked Fisi, he's never been accused of not having raw speed, its just his racecraft seemed to lack sparkle. I think he's a good choice for a developing team, he knows he's not going to win anything, but it keeps him doing what he clearly loves, which is the point I suppose.

And as has been mentioned, at least its not Ralf, or that Villeneuve.......

Maybe this is the problem and it's something I mentioned as well (helping a developing team), Force India should not be a developing team.

Jordan was a developed team, a race winning and even for one year a potential championship challenging team, but then the rot set in. Midland/Spyker seemed to destroy everything that was there (or at least finish the job), letting key staff leave etc. Alright, EJ got out at probably just the right time and Bernie probably made a nice little side wedge from the Midland deal, but the team has just seemed to lurch from crisis to crisis since, mainly cash related. The lack of manufacturer backing is certainly an issue, possibly the main one, but I just can't help feeling that the team has been used as a convenient tool for individuals own F1 grandee aspirations. The owners have seemed to be more interested in having the tag 'F1 team owner' rather than the tag 'winning F1 team owner' and have bailed when the costs have hit home. There is no doubt in my mind that Midland could have put enough money into the team to make it easily mid-field, but for some reason they just weren't interested after they realised how hard/how much it would take.

I think a telling note comes from the Force India webpage itself (which is truly awful). They have a video on there where a chappie says the immortal worlds of the perrenial loser;

Indian Chappie in Video said:
It's not about winning or losing, it's about glory and pride
No, it's not. It's about winning. With winning comes glory. It's almost as though they are going into the whole project expecting to lose. I'm not saying that they should be doing a BAR and saying they'll win their first race, that would be totally naive, but they have to have the belief that they can and will win. Formula 1 IS about winning. It reminds me of Johnny Herbert. Pre accident his attitude was always 'I WILL be world champion' when interviewed. Post accident he seemed to lose that belief and when asked he would reply 'I hope I can be world champion' or 'I want to be world champion'.

I hate to say it but I don't think Force India will move up the grid. I'd like them to as I still think of the team as partly Jordan, but Colles and Mol just don't fill me with confidence. I'd love to be proved wrong though.
