not sure,

Going to cut them down, so I won't have the distbins on them.
I've got a set of pre-cat ones also.

are they that bad. is this due to them not being equal length.

Also I not too bothered about getting max BHP from the engine as I want to run class C.

I'd like to run some RV8 Tuscan headers but you can't get them.

Also I'm trying to do this on a budget, and am allready gone over it. so can't spend any more unless I really have to.

Leigh - yep they are not good (someone will no doubt come along and sg me off) but when I took my system to a well respected exhaust place for a full SS one for my Chim (not STD;)) and took the existing full system to see if any use the guy just laughed.

He said that the many different changes in bore size, i.e. from the headers pipes to the large pipes with the cats in and then back up to the 10" odd dust bin and then back down to single 3" and THEN back to two single pipes THROUGH the centre box to the back basically murdered the gas speed!! If on a budget I'd find someone to cut them just where they collect - put a proper merging 4 into 1 there and then cross them over (or maybe into one with the RV8 firing order and then out the back via just enough silencing to get abou 100db at 2/3's revs.

I was going to ask where you are, but just checked - Essex is not far from where I am having a Mega system made by ZERO in Kent (my championship sponsor). Just Google ZERO Exhaust or go to the www.thoroughbredsportscars.com site for the link.

The most costly part is the part you will keep if you chop just before they go to the one big section, the rest can be done really pretty cheaply. I am having a full one off header and induction, but once past this bit i.e. from the collectors back it is all pretty cheap and easy to do. Ask for Kevin, he is a top man.

Good luck with the rest of the build.

Thanks for the info,

I am, going to cut them so they don't go up and down in size.

Mainly wanted them for the flange bits.

put them on as they was just to check for chassis clearance, when making the new engine brackets.

When I have more money next year will get a better custom system made.
but currently I just want to get it finished. to get some experince with the car.

Look more finished than it is.

Due to fitting the spare block, just to see if it fits with the body on.

Looks like we will need a bonnet bulge or scoop.

Also we are going to cut down the can's on the headers.
unfortunately the non cat manifolds would not fit.

15" front and 16" rear.

Going to mod the rear arches when I have time and use orignal 16" Tuscan Race Wheels all round.

Leigh - have you spoken with John Read about Tuscan RV8 manifolds? There was a big cage of them at the factory in 2005 - he may know what happened to them

They can't be that hard make - I'm sure you will pay just as much for a John Reid one as for a one off by someone like Kevin.

Got all the Engine Balanced.
Rods, Pistons, Flywheel, Clutch Cover, Crank, Trigger wheel and Front pulley.
So started re-building the top-hatted block.

look like I may have to mod the water pump a little to get the trigger wheel to fit correctly.

Started making up the new Exhaust system.

Need to find a damaged Y piece so I can use the ends so I can still have a clamp on Exhaust.

The Big Hammers was in the garage used to hammer the 4" Exhaust down to 2.5"

It comming along well, just taking a bit longer than expected. it's mostly been fun, and should be an interesting car when finished.

Yes same as Kevan had it.

The flexi hose is only there as an indication of route.
