Dennis confirms divorce rumours.

http://www.crash.net/motorsport/f1/news/159692-0/d...

Following the appearance of speculation in various areas of the media, Ron and Lisa Dennis have issued a statement confirming that they are indeed to end their marriage.

One of Formula One's more recognisable couples, the Dennises have been together for 22 years, but a breach of confidence has now forced them into issuing a brief statement early on Friday to confirm the sad news.

"Following the reporting of a matter that my wife Lisa and I had hoped would remain confidential at this time, we have decided to announce our separation after 22 years of marriage," the missive read, "Inevitably, the process is a difficult one for us and our three children, and we hope and trust that the media will respect that it should also therefore remain a private one. Neither Lisa nor I will be making any further statements on this matter."

Ron is obviously in one way or another married to the team....he is an excellent Father but with what is involved with running an organisation the size of McLaren....managing a marriage must be hard. The last 18 months or so have been from the outside very difficult and I guess Lisa D and he have drifted apart. A shame and I hope they and the family can deal with what needs to be done in private.

Money will not be the deciding issue here and I am certain that common sense and decency will prevail.

Bet he'd rather have another FIA fine than a divorce settlement. Will this mean he's less likely to retire though? scratchchin

I thought dropping Lewis into the mix would be way too dull.

I thought there was trouble afoot when she suddenly started coming to races after all those years of marriage and never showing an interest.... LJ

Lisa has been attending the races for decades on and off, she's had a family to raise in that time so hasnt been high profile at all the races, but then it's not been her job to be there, just like all the other team bosses wives you might see on ocasion or not at all. Last year wasnt anything unusual in the big scheme. Best of luck to both of them.

A friend's son was at school with her son, Hugo. By all accounts she was pretty miserable. As regards looks, my friend will shag anything, so any coments on that front were, of course, disregarded by me....
