I have to say I also think the headline is rather misleading.

It's akin to saying "C-Class wins debut race" if the DTM Merc did the same thing. Which is to say miles away from reality.

Oh...and FWIW I really like the silhouette series' around the world - DTM and Super GT make touring-cars look like chav'd up Astras and Civics (Ah... redfacewink). But don't confuse them with the real deal, eh?

Focused sports car GT-R beats boulevard-cruising LA lard-arse Lexus SC430 !?!? smile
These cars are all spaceframes, carbon tubs and the engine in the GTR is a V8. Theres pretty much nothing in common with the road car and all the others are the same.
You mean it's a more sophisticated version of NASCAR? wink

Nope id say its more like DTM. Out of interest, does anyone have an idea how a GT500 compares to a DTM speedwise?

...how do the DTM laptimes compare to FIA GT1 class?
DTM pole at Oschersleben last year was 1:22.456 whilst FIA GT1 pole was 1:24.492. In 2006 DTM pole was 1:19.264 and GT1 pole was 1:21.520. I believe the track was modified in between years accounting for the slower times in 2007.
