O/T, but the holes in the wheelarches are designed to stop high pressure building in the arch when the car is sliding sideways at speed. This contributes to the overturning moment that causes the side of the car to lift, which then allows the floor and general lateral shape of the car to generate enough lift to take off. However, they are many other factors involved, at the speeds the cars reach on the Mulsanne, no matter what you do, if you get it sideways going fast enough, there's a fair chance it could take off. There has been and is plenty of research still ongoing into resolving the matter.

It's a lovely photo but where is the fantastic motorsport moment? A fantastic motorsport photo doesn't always have to be an action shot of someone tearing the branding off of the sidewalls, and IMO doesn't even have to feature a car, driver, or circuit ... at least one of the three would be nice though. There is something equally impressive about a full on action shot, as a thought / emotion provoking shot that you might want to hang on a wall.
