Looks a bit like Le Mans at Pikes Peak. It seems they go for massive downforce. This thing will not slide so much anymore?

Or did they already put asphalt over the entire track up until the peak? I hope not.
Thats the first thing I thought. Very LMP looking. Im happy to see Hyundai getting more involved in motorsport.

I've said it before on PH, but the new Hyundai's are very good cars indeed. The new Sonata, and the genesis sedan and Coupe are very much nice things to look at, relatively speaking. They have a 10 year warranty over here too.

My Dad had a Hyundai once, Mitsubishi engine, lots of toys looks like a Cortina. The Stellar, t'was a great car actually!

Bought it from a Dealership in the Falls Road called Daleys, had a dealer sticker in the shape of an Acid face... "I 've been to Daleys"

Good Luck to them!

Somewhat related, but has there been any news of the Stanford U & VAG entry for Pikes Peak?
That's the one without a driver.

The noise of the turbochargers sucking air in that video is epic.

As mentioned in another thread, it looks a great car (the Genesis) so fingers crossed for a UK release to compete with the 370Z and maybe even the upcoming Toyobaru.

Whats going on with this pic, the front wing merges into the windscreen like one of those stair case optical illusions!

You're looking at it wrong.

You can see what I mean though? I think its due to the vertical line just before the winglets that makes it look strange.

Being an admirer of his, I had a chat with Rod Millen about his Toyota Tacoma truck at Goodwood FoS a few years back. The venturi tunnels on that are epic, which seemed at odds with his slightly tail-happy style. He explained that the tunnels were designed to work at slip angles of up to about 15deg. Can't pretend to be an engineer or an aerodynamicist, but made some sense. His runs at Goodwood have been worth the entry fee on their own.

O/T - this looks awesome. Nice to see some proper attempts from the works teams before the challenge is lost completely and it becomes fully paved.

Impressive...

(PS - Did he actually catch up to the Bowler Nemesis? Was that going full chat or taking it easy? (The Bowler I mean, Rod Millen was obviously going full chat!!))

Not sure that the tacoma's engine is 2 little hehe

I do think it;s weird how they call them a 'Tacoma' or something, and yet there is almost nothing of that car in the vehicle!

Looks stunning! maybe the Radical guys should watch their backs! lol

Seriously though, really hope thisthing dose well. Not what people are used to seeing but should be pretty effective. the principles are the same after all!

Intrersting that they are only using a single turbo and not twin turbos!

Chris.

Very strange looking thing, considering it's designed for Pikes Peak. Looks like something from Le Mans.

But mega kudos to Hyundai for setting different expectations thumbup.

On the Tacoma "truck" that Rod drove. Was basically a reskined verison with awd and anti lag system.
Of Dan Gurney IMSA GTP Toyota Mk3 Eagle that Rod and his team worked to run up Pikes Peak.
The only thing now we would need is someone the Unser clan to get some factory backing.
To make things really interesting.

The Genesis has been getting rave reviews and Hyundai is managing to carve a new brand for themselves stateside; they've not bothered here yet but it's been going on for some time over there with great success I believe. Also isn't the Genesis the car used in the series '24' ?
