Car goes to trimmer tomorrow for new headlining and pillars.

Got sent a back issue of Performance BMW Magazine with an article covering all the older cars. This made me smile.

After another delay the car is finally confirmed with the trimmer on Monday. Everything else is pretty much ready for the final build. Hopefully, the heat issues will be sorted now the whole car should look great.

I have always had a thing for E21 BMWs, and yours in particular has some great history and a impressive rebuild, keep up the good work.

DVLA have given me the original registration number back! It should have been returned after JEF 45 (I think?) was removed but they just awarded another 1982 mark. Anyway, because I have comprehensive history, including the purchase invoice, they have given me the original number back for free!

Finally going to see the car at the trimmer tomorrow. First time since it's been painted too, so fingers crossed. I'll take my camera with me.

Went over to see the trimmer today and need to get one of the steel bars that supports the headlining.

Was good to see it finally begin to resemble a car once more.

Good news & bad.

Bad news is that the chap that was doing the restoration did nothing but make things worse than they were when work first started 18mths ago. Lots of bullst. poor quality work & missed deadlines later and he's been kicked into touch and served with court papers.

Good news is that in stepped www.pristinebodyworks.co.uk to save the day and restore the car properly. I am extremely grateful as after having been taken for several £k I was unsure just what I was going to do.

How's this for horrific paintwork?

That's pretty damn shoddy if that's "finished" paintwork.

I uploaded it after a 3 year search. Thanks though.

It's in safe hands and work is due to start again very soon.
