Good news & bad.

Bad news is that the chap that was doing the restoration did nothing but make things worse than they were when work first started 18mths ago. Lots of bullst. poor quality work & missed deadlines later and he's been kicked into touch and served with court papers.

Good news is that in stepped www.pristinebodyworks.co.uk to save the day and restore the car properly. I am extremely grateful as after having been taken for several £k I was unsure just what I was going to do.

How's this for horrific paintwork?

I uploaded it after a 3 year search. Thanks though.

It's in safe hands and work is due to start again very soon.

Mick @ Pristine has said he wants to get the bodyshell done sooner rather than later. There's a whole heap of flatting & prep work to be done to sort that dreadful paint out but after that, its just a case of methodically working through the mechanical stuff.
The new head has got to come back off to be checked. It was built up with half the head bolts missing, no oil spray bar and missing followers. It doesn't exactly instil me with confidence! The head was supposed to have been flowed & fitted with larger e34 inlet valves. We'll be checking that too. The coilovers will be coming off and the original Bilsteins and progressive rate springs will go back on. I never really wanted coilovers anyway, but with hindsight they were only ever fitted to try and cover for the fact nothing was getting done.
There's something about this car that I just can't put my finger on. It has real presence and everyone who's seen it, despite its current state, has said exactly the same. It's going to sound awesome too! I know it's old school engineering but it should make an easy 260+ bhp with a shed load of torque.

The carbs were an option offered by TWR so I'm not too concerned, although I take your point. The old L-jet wasn't up to much anyway.

In part, yes.

The recent events just spoiled the whole thing and I simply don't feel motivated enough to keep on with it. I've listed it on eBay in the hope that it will reach someone who's prepared to finish it off. It will be an awesome car once done.

I'm putting a replica e30 M3 track car together which I plan to use next year and raise some donations to the Cornwall Air Ambulance. I have most stuff but need a 5 stud conversion kit and wheels for a start.
