Robert kubica seriously injured
Discussion
I am sure this will be said many times, but why on earth is one the most highly respected and rated drivers of formula one cars driving on a road rally?
How many people will now be standing over him saying 'told you so'?
I know that Mark Webber also got badly beaten up when hit on his bike, but rally driving seems somewhat more of a risk.
I really do wish him a speedy and full recovery.

Sounds like he's not likely to take much of a part in F1 this season then. I thought F1 teams frowned upon / forbade their drivers from doing any other motorsport activities nowadays
I was wondering that. Ferrari in particular force their drivers to take to the slopes in their winter PR thingy. Kubica has been rallying for a while now and the team only seem to care that he drives a Renault whilst doing it. Although in this case the accident was on the way to the Rally rather than whilst competing in it. From what I gather he wasn't in his rally car at the time.
Either way, hope it doesn't sideline him for too long. I thought he had a real chance this year.
As someone else has pointed out though, Senna in a JPS liveried car for at least the first part of the season (I can't bring myself to call it a Lotus).
Hope this turns out to be not too bad for him, he set quickest time of the new cars last week and was thinking maybe this could be his year, pretty sure if he was in a front running car he'd be in with a good chance of winning lots (look what he acheived in the bmw). I like the way he goes about being in F1 in such a no nonsense way.
Get well soon and hope he is back in an F1 car soon.

But from what im reading on rally forums Czech media reports says he has a badly broken hand and german media talks of amputation, though im not sure how accurate both sources are.
I wish Robert all the best in his recovery and hope to see him racing again soon!

Because its a far more interesting form of motorsport, even if it doesn't pay quite as well Hope he recovers quickly, would be a shame to see a talent like that out of the game.

Because its a far more interesting form of motorsport, even if it doesn't pay quite as well Kubica was for me one of the top 5 drivers of last year; his Monaco performances are always good to watch! Hope he gets well soon because IMO he has serious potential and Renault (who are having a resurgence) will suffer badly without him
