Who will replace him?

Are they really going to let Senna loose in the Renault?

Would they not prefer someone experienced to lead the team?

doubts are being cast on his ability to return to F1 due to injuries sustained in a car accident in 2003 and the same arm being injured this time.

hope not.

BBC Sport report on his injuries

apparently fractures to his left arm and leg and he's 'unlikely' to race in Bahrain :/

Polish websites reporting that the armco barrier pierced the car and it was against the armco that Kubica was injured. They say the leg is of more concern at the moment.

Sorry to speculate, but an official announcment from the hospital is due out in half an hour so hopefully will clear up the rumours.

It would great if Senna can turn this into his big opportunity to really shine, especially if it's in a Renault "Lotus".

How about we wait to hear of Kubica's condition before talking about his replacement

Get well soon Robert Kubica.

Renault have Senna and also Grosjean as reserves.

Get well soon Robert. Boy has gone through a few of his 9 lives. He has proved though he is one tough cookie. Hope he is back soon. F1 grid poorer without him.

No offence, but I bet Renault aren't waiting.

Terrible news, I hope he can recover first and foremost, talk of amputation is scary. Secondly I hope he can return to F1 he has achieved a lot in cars that weren't front runners, he would be a big loss to the sport if his F1 career is over.

Get well soon Robert

Nevermind Bahrain, they now have to rely on Petrov/Grosjean/Senna for the pre season tests this coming week.
Interesting times.

Renault doing a press conference at 1pm so we'll know for sure then.

Terrible news. I was really looking forward to see what Kubica and Renault could do this season. They say you shouldn't read too much into pre season test laptimes but it looks like they could be very competative in 2011. Hope he recovers quickly and is back racing in F1 soon, he's definatley one of the most talented on the grid.
