Thought they were still made in Bath.

Please excuse ignorance but what is SVA? They should make homoglated cars, just like the old sierra RS500 (the only RS500 imho) in limited quantities. At least then they'd get an idea for supply and demand and not foul in the way TVR did, essentially making cars that the porker and fezzer owners didn't want and some of the TVR hardcore weren't particularily fond of! Also it would be a good PR/MArketting system!

It would actually be IVA (Individual Vehicla Approval) as it's a passenger car. I know you were only quoting someone else.
It's the only cost effective way for a small manufacturer to get cars registered and is the route they've been going down with the G40.

It's also how Caterham get their cars registered. I bump into them nearly every time I'm at VOSA.

Yeah, me too. That's what we were told in the factory. Certainly there didn't look to be any tooling up there for the F400.

That is one fine looking Beast! What a Dodge Viper should have looked like. Not that the Viper is ugly, just this is soo much better. One for the road? and I'm not talking about a drink.

I know Ginetta got their fingers burnt in the past (long before Mr Tomlinson) trying to make road cars. The basic problem is you can assemble a race car relatively quickly as you don't worry about the exact door fit, panel fit, interior trim, sound proofing etc etc, so the man hours spent assembling it can be controlled, unlike trying to get an expensive road car spot on. In road form it only takes some half witted motoring Journalist to complain about the fit an finish and it damages the brand so I think its a sharp move to stick to race cars only.

Who needs sound proofing? I like transmission whine. :P

I had a tour around the Ginetta factory near Leeds last month and they were definitely making the F400 there. There were quite a few in various stages of production. They are beautiful. The G55 was there too and it is lovely!

i would buy one as a weekend toy if they were reasonably priced and didnt break down. Elise/exige fit and finish would be fine for me. It is a very pretty car, like the G50 before it.

You're 3 months ahead of me so fair enough.
