Well, we're here... and OHMYSWEETJESUS its amazing....
We've not done as many miles as we'd hoped, we sort of did Glasgow-Invergarry-Inverness mainly on the A82 with a bit of a detour. The wether has been mixed, the morning was stunning he afternoon when we left Ben Nevis was a bit mixed, as was the traffic but we managed to dispense with most of that
Pics to follow...
tomorrow we're chasing the sunshine to the east coast stopping off to look at Whiskey places...

A great 900 miles on the best roads in the UK. Sunshine interspersed with some very heavy showers. The Bealach na Ba road was very wet which made it quite a challenge. The highlight was the Monday run over Dava, the Lecht, and the Cairnwell. The only downside was I having far too much fun driving to be able to take any photos of that section.

Car park? Car park?? That would suggest you stopped?? Wuss!!
Lol!!
How very dare you!Lol!!
It was a diversion off our direct route but no way would we miss it out. Of course we stopped, as
a) it makes for an interesting comparison swapping cars for the run down to the 30 limit sign at Kinlochewe and back again.
b) there is no wheeled conveyance I know of which could have managed to get me to the point from where that photo was taken.

I think we took the wrong turn
Around there in the rain today but I'll see what the go pros picked up. Sat in the pub in Peebles now enjoying a well earned drink
Homeward route took me and a couple of the other guys through Peebles and the Tweed valley. Stopped for lunch at the Cafe on the Water in Kielder forest. We were the only customers. A massive rain squall blew in just as we arrived. Got absolutely soaked running the dozen or so yards from the car park to the entrance! not long back and all I can say is WOW..... here are a couple of the 30000 ( yes thats 30K ) images we managed to capture between the 2 GoPro cameras.
actually on 2nd thoughts, no it was rubbish, I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to go to scotland for the roads... stay at home... its not worth the effort... it always rains and there's nothing but traffic jams as far as the eye can see....

^^This^^ Re traffic jams - may I refer you to my third Saturday photo.
I think we managed to find every roadworks north of Loch Lomond.
Recognised your third one immediately. The cut through those rocks is very distinctive. It's just north of the Kylesku bridge (see my sixth photo on Sunday).

I need to go back and ive a week off at the end of July hmmm..
In four successive years this is the first time we have had any significant rain (we had just one wet 3 hour spell on the Saturday morning in 2010 - a cold, windy, and sodden John O'Groats is spectacularly depressing!).The major advantage of going that early in the year is the complete absence of that dreaded and ferocious foe, the Highland Biting Midge! June/July/August are its peak months. Pack plenty of repellant. The Garden Midge (which also bites but much less severely) has a longer season from mid May to mid October.
Some videos from the PH Ecosse Run on Sunday: Scotland at its best!
Start to Tyndrum
Tyndrum to Oyster Inn
Glencoe to Loch Lomond
Vistors always welcome
Enjoy!

Just a heads up, the road to Applecross will be closed Sat 12th due to a cycle race (it opens early afternoon, but there are still shed loads of bikes on the road - progress S L O W)
Don't get me started! We must have encountered nearly 100 (recreational not racing) cyclists, singly and in small groups, strung out over several miles of the A836 north of Lairg.
Now don't get me wrong, they have as much right to the road as we do, but some of them were completely unaware/clueless. On a single track road coming up to a passing place what is the point of deliberately blocking a convoy of cars by speeding up so that we all have to inch past them once the road narrows again? Through their sheer stupidiy creating an unnecessary and avoidable hazard.
One of these muppets ended up nearly crashing into the rider in front. The photo of him in the act of falling off his bike is priceless.
