I mean unreal in terms of how bad the traffic is and how rubbish the roads are.

Absolutely. And the scenery is a bit poop. All those mountains. The views from the Cuillin ridges? Well I suppose they might be a bit good, but it takes a good measure of Talisker (and some more) to compensate and bring out the sun. The road from Portree to Flodigarry is most definitely not worth visiting. Don't go there. Stay away.

Nothing to see here, please move along.

wink

Sad to report they found his body on Liathach late last night. Massive man hunt. I counted 15 emergency vehicles and a chopper.

The weather has been stunning this week.
Photos below all taken from the B863 Kinlochring N side today (apart from the sunset which is from the N Ballachulish junction).

GPS to be jammed in Scotland during Nato war games. Jammers will be in place at Faraid Head at Durness and Loch Ewe. This month's exercise will be held from 5 to 16 October.
It only mentions GPS and outdoor pursuits, not sure the effect on satnavs.

If you need a sat nav in Northern Highlands then you possibly have short term memory issues - on account of there only being about half a dozen roads.

The military exercises at Cape Wrath can be quite something - salvos of shells (live ones ) from ships miles off shore , planes firing rockets etc. I was once up there and encountered the US Navy moored up in Loch Eriboll - ships everywhere , helicopters etc
