Absolutely stunning, Steve! Thank you for posting. Your contributions to this thread inspired us to get up to the NW earlier this year, and I can't wait to get back.

Have seen red squirrels a number of times on my forays but never been fortunate enough to spot a pine marten.

Thanks. cool Not a fan of Julian Clary so hadn't seen it.
Also fleeting glimpses @ 0:29 & 0:31 methinks.
Plus the obligatory viewpoint above Kinlochewe @ 13:28 - smile

I thought that i would share this video of me driving over the Applecross Pass. The pace is fairly sedate, the weather was appalling, I didn't know the road and i have my wife with me in the car!

highlands related but mildly O/T... i was given some Arran Machrie aftershave for Xmas. Very nice stuff actually and definitely reminds me of the Highland countryside. Recommended!

Could be right as that is not too far from Fords WRC base

Nope: the valley is too narrow and Wrynose doesn't have scree slopes (nor does Harknott).
The big clues are the skyline and the large rock below the scree on the right. It's Honister.

Just booked flights for the end of February to Inverness!

I wanted to drive up but the Missus wouldn't have any of it :-(

Also booked a 4x4 so hopefully it will cope with the weather conditions if global warming isn't doing it's job....

Looking forward to travelling around the highlands and enjoying the stunning scenery everyone is posting up in their photos (Very Jealous)

I'm thinking about doing the North Coast 500 going clockwise up the West Coast

Any recommendations for an itinerary of 5 days?
