It seems that the constant delays and congestion caused by this crossing are going to cost us more if we want to use it. Cars up 50p to a round £2 now. Shame they cannot lessen the congestion caused rather than fleece the motorist some more

So why doesn't everyone refuse to pay ? Looks like they did in Scotland

Lets see how the computer/fine & prison system copes.

What they lose in revenue would be more than made up in economic benefits by increased taxation.

Thereagain, the constant queueing & price rises are more likely to be a political agenda to 'encourage' people off the roads.

Maybe £20 for cars and free for trucks & vans may be a better way of doing it smile

£2 each way for cars is a 33.3% increase! Roads minister Mike Penning said "The money raised will help us prioritise investment for much-needed improvements to increase capacity and reduce journey times.”

Then the govm't talk about reducing our carbon footprint. Green taxes. Tax us like hell on our cars, and then cause a traffic jam everyday at the tolls, makes sense eh?
I have wasted more time queing at this crossing than on any other road in the uk.
Infuriates me, but we (the British) with our stiff upper lip just take it like we always do. A good shafting sir? Oh yes please.

Let's import some French people here, they would blocakade the thing and get the tolls removed.
The crossing was paid for years ago, and should not be a man made traffic nightmare.

Should be great fun in the morning as all the muppets won't have the right or any extra money.
As said prev the crossings have been paid for now its just a tax which is going up by 25-35%.
