Sanef Liber-T card - worth it?
Discussion
In my experience, yes. We do an annual trip south, and the time and faff it saves at each peage is well worth it.
Many of the peages have an automated lane for cardholders where you can roll through at about 30kph, assuming the lane is clear (which in my experience it often is). Very satisfying to roll through whilst looking at the tailback of caravans gathering.
Some French city centre car parks also work on the system, which can be handy.
From memory there is an annual subscription of £20 or so, which is taken by direct debit. They bill the tolls on a monthly basis as and when you use it.

Is there a lane for these cards without a height restriction? We often travel with a roofbox in France and the 'tag' lanes always appear to be car height only?
Yes, not a problem. There's always at least 1 tag lane to accommodate vans etc, but you should check the statement Sanef send just to ensure that they've charged you the correct car toll rather than one of the more expensive 'commercial' ones - it's never happened to us (yet) but even Sanef admit that it could sometimes happen and to check their charges. And in answer to the OP - definitely worth it. You can have a smug smile on your face as you sail past all the Brits stuck in the toll queues, then watch them hammer past a few miles (kilometres) down the road only to repeat the 'game' at the next tolls. It also winds-up the 'locals' who don't realise that us Brits can have a tag and so they start waving frantically at the 'stupid Rostbif' in front thinking that you're going to jam up everything by using the wrong lane.

But you need a French bank account??????
Britline etc??????
Not if you get one via Saneftolling.co.uk Britline etc??????
I was interested in one of these too. But I couldn't find how to order one, living in Belgium? Is this UK only?
But as I used my VISA card to pay for the tolls, and the queues for the Credit Card lanes were pretty short (albeit not so short as the Sanef lanes) it was OK

I`ve just ordered one and I`m strangely excited about getting a small box in the post BUT also already nervous about my first approach to a Peage and the barrier staying DOWN!!!!
That happened to mine, seem to take a few seconds to wake up also found that it picked up better on the left hand side of the rear mirror.I finally got it waving about outside the car. Pissed off a few french. But not bothered, they can all kiss my ass.
Just ordered my tag. Like others a little nervous about it working first time. In terms of mounting the tag, does it really have to be stuck at the top of the windscreen.? With all the rain / light sensor stuff behind the rear view mirror there isn't anywhere discreet for the tag. I would much rather keep it in the glovebox and lay it on the dashboard when approaching tolls.anyone tried this?

Can't do it, you must mount it to the windscreen, around the back of the rear view mirror.Gassing Station | Roads | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
