A quick write of my European Trip I completed last week, covered 2326 miles over 9 days and had an awesome time smile

  • Day One
Reims - Troyes

Got up early and travelled to Folkstone to catch the Eurotunnel and then headed to Reims to visit the old GP Stands and have alook at the cathedral -

From Reims we travelled to Troyes were our first Hotel was, wasnt much there apart from a large shopping village that included a Haribo shop so we stocked up for the trip smile

  • Day Two
Chamonix - St Bernard Pass - Aosta

From Troyes we travelled to Chamonix, our plan was to go up the Aiguille Du Midi Ski lift to see the views but the weather was crap and we woulndt have been able to see anything at the top so we just had a look round the town and got a great burger from a place called Poco Loco, would recommend going there if your after a burger in Chamonix.

From Chamonix we travelled over to the Saint Bernard Pass, was a great road to drive and alot more interesting than going through the Mont Blanc tunnel -

Our Hotel was at the bottom of the pass in Aosta, Italy, a place called La Roche, we had a great view from our balcony -

  • Day Three
Modena - Lake Garda

From Aosta we travelled to the Ferrari museum in Marranello, they had a good selection of Classics and newer cars.

after that we headed to the Enzo Museum in Modena which had a display of classic F1 cars on display -

After the museums we headed to Sirmione on Lake Garda, really liked this place with lots to see and lots of bars/restaurants.

  • Day Four
Stelvio - Fluela - San Bernardino Passes

From Sirmione we headed to Bormio and the Stelvio pass, some great views up the pass and from the top -

From the Stelvio we carried on to the Fluela Pass, lots of snow around but the roads were clear, great views -

We stopped in Davos for some food and then carried on to the San Bernardino Pass. By the time we got there it was starting to get dark but decided to go over it anyway, would of been better with more light but was still a great road -

We decided to stay in San Bernardino that night, was really quiet there due to it being a off season ski resort.

  • Day Five
Gothard - Furka - Grimsel Passes & Zurich

From San Bernardino we headed to the Gothard Pass -

From there we traveled to the Furka Pass and then onto the Grimsel Pass -

After all the passes we traveled to Zurich and took a trip to the zoo smile

Travelled over the border to Höchenschwand in Germany. We stayed at Hotel Cortina and was really good value at £75 for two large single rooms and a big breakfast, would recommend it.

  • Day Six
Stuttgart

We travelled to Stuttgart the next day and went to the Mercedes Museum, alot of amazing classic cars in there and a great museum, my favourite from the trip -

After the Museum we headed to Wilhelma Zoo which is at the other end of the road -

  • Day Seven
Porsche Museum - Nurburgring

Left our Hotel in Stuttgart and headed to the Porsche Museum, a nice selection of cars there -

From Stuttgart we headed over to Hotel Nordschleife, a great hotel close to the Nurburgring with a view of the track from our room.

Went and done a couple of laps, didnt set any lap records but reallly enjoyed it and definately wanna go back soon, some pics from Ring Photos -

After completing the laps we hanged around the paddock to look at the cars, such a variety of cars there -

Then we headed back to the hotel and went to take some photos -

  • Day Eight & Nine
Brugge

From the Nurburgring we took it easy and drove over to Brugge and had a look around and brought lots of chocolate and sampled the Belgium beers smile

Next day we head back to Calais to return home, slightly exhausted as I did all the driving as my friend only passed his test about 6 months ago and didnt trust him with my 5 lol It was a great trip and definately want to do another one some time.

Lots more Pics here for anyone interested - http://www.flickr.com/photos/tim0854/sets/72157635...

Looks like you had a great time. That's pretty much the route I had in my mind, though I was thinking of extending it down Route Napoleon to Monaco. That'll probably be next year now looking at the snow in your pics.

Would've done Route Napoleon, Cul du Turrini and Monaco if I had more time, ones for the next trip smile

I'm intending to drive the Route Napoleon at the end of next month. I'm staying in Lyon en-route and will check the roads before I commit.
