A686 Hartside Summit

I took the afternoon off work yesterday, and put it to good use. Got the train to Penrith to pick up a Puma that I'd bought off eBay for peanuts, and then drove home to Newcastle along the A686 road to Hexham taking in Hartside summit. What a fantastic road! A good mix of fast sweepers and tight hairpins, with a good surface and occasional glimpses of the Lake District mountains in the sunshine. I should have driven it years ago!
