Hoping to arrange a tour for a few cars in early October, Friday through Sunday. Starting somewhere not too far off the M4. Would like to visit the Museum of Speed at Pendine on Saturday at some point, doing a loop back to the hotel. Anyone know some proven driving roads or hotel s please.

OK Pendine shut in October so a rethink. Have hotel rooms reserved for Friday and Saturday near Cwmbran so a big Saturday loop with POI and a shorter half day on Sunday. Any more suggestions please. Thanks for those so far.

To be honest, I'd avoid Pendine. You won't find many fun driving roads in the area. And I think the museum closes in September (not that I was inspired by it when I visited, in any case). Given that you are on the M4, I'd tour the usual Brecon Beacons and mid-Wales roads.

Now if they'd re-open Pendine Sands to vehicles, my answer would change completely!

Just checked and the Museum of Speed definitely closes at the end of September for the year, so thanks for that info. Rethink in order.

If early October is 4th/5th there is truck racing at Pembrey. I've been and it's pretty awesome.
