Yep, about a decade and a half ago. It's very, very steep and long. Once you come out of the tree line, it's a total moonscape.

Anyway I had a great day.
Youre right.
Once out of the tree line the moonscape appeared.
Stopped at the top for a photo then down the other side and brake burn was the order of the day. For the A class British Merc Iet by anyway!

After coming down we had lunch at Beaumes de Venise and bought some spiffing apres diner vin!

Un Bon jour!

Not surprising it's quick. smile It's a Radical. @0:14 you can clearly see the distinctive vents on bodywork above the l/h front wheel.

Disappointing when that happens. We did the Grossglockner this year and I was basically driving on instruments, using the sat-nav. It was that bad there was fog in the tunnels, which was interesting.

When I drove up there from the north, the fog was extremely thick high up too. I was driving along at sub-walking pace to avoid driving over the edge.

Lower down it was wet, but clear. The descent down the dry Southern side was great.

Looks like you had a good trip Yorkie. When we did our Europe trip Sept 13, I mounted the Gopro on the bonnet using the Suction cup mount, was frightened to put it on the roof like you've done! It worked okay for me, you could see a bit of the bonnet - not too much - and hear the supercharger scream wink ......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AraQwBAiXX4

How is the 5.0 to drive compared to the XK8?

Very enjoyable trip Jeff, The standard 5.0 Is a absolute peach of a engine! Quite a difference to my 4.2! Yes I would love a 5.0 but for the moment I can't complain with my 8. It cruised easily on the motorway on a cc. Then when you want to play with the paddles it does so without fuss. I think It IS a very underated car the 5.0 XK Is. My video footage is a bit shaky and I'll post something up very soon!
