Has anyone noticed over the past 2 months that the old grey boxed (some were painted black) traffic light cameras have been removed and replaced by the new extremely high mounted 4m pole. These are in the reflective yellow. Plus the ground loops at the traffic light stop line under the ground have also been renewed.
So far I have not seen anyone get flashed yet. Is there going to be a date for these to be turned on. Seems like they are going to be making money out of people.

There are some near me on the A4 and A312. They look like they are there to detect speeders to me.

If they are red light cameras then I approve of them "making money out of people" getting fed up of red light jumpers.

Even if cyclists go through and it were to flash, they would get away with it. How on earth would they identify them.

They aren't red light cameras, they are a GATSO camera that is mounted higher up.

I understand that they are traffic management scanners, part of a new system called SCOOT which is designed to manage the individual junction.

I doubt they are part of SCOOT.
