A1 great ponton Lincolnshire new cameras?

Does anyone use the A1 at great ponton? The cameras have been taken down on both sides and new ones erected are the new ones an average speed trap? They are a distance apart now two cameras in a pole one for each lane?

Anyone know anything about them?

Noticed this for the first time last weekend, took me by surprise as there were no signs indicating averaging cameras were used.

Saw them recently - couldn't decide how far the 'zone' extends..... Not on yet?

Signs did say not in use last Thursday evening.
I'm not back past there until next week will have to have a look.

Couple of them down near Ancaster turn off are NOT marked as 'Camera Not In use' so I assumed they might be functional but the others up near Ponton do have signs visible saying 'Camera Not In Use'. The 'Average Speed Check Area' signs are all (or were Tuesday this week) covered over but the size and shape I recognise.

Funny, I don't remember a glut of serious accidents at those two exit/entry points on the A1. No reports of people getting killed there at any time in the recent past. I can't help but think that the money used to pay for these could have been better used elsewhere TBH.

They are camara crazy in Linconshire doesn't seem to make any difference to the accident rates in that county.

I passed through these today expecting the Gatso cameras which have been there for years. They didn't look like regular specs and there were no average speed camera signs - although there were plenty of generic speed camera signs. I'll keep an eye on the post for the next few weeks, but couldn't have been going that much over....
