Don't know but reports are of shortages. However French strikes tend to be first port of call to draw attention rather than last resort here (they don't/can't lobby politicians like us) and then deals get done after. Wouldn't be surprised if it's all sorted in a couple of weeks.
Oh good, I will have been back in the UK by then in my V10 diesel that likes 100 litres every 500ish miles, I can feel my palms sweating already!"why is the roastbeef stealing all our fuel, he`s been filling up for 10 minutes"
Unless you're looking for diesel... it doesn't seem too bad. Haven't had any issues so far. Was in Grasse last night. There was definitely some tension in the air. First place was empty but the second place I tried had Super Unleaded. Topped up three times today, Super each time, and didn't have any problems.
so, I depart later tonight
I'll admit, tonights drive is far from ideal - but I used Tesco Clubcard vouchers to book eurotunnel, and you must book min 14 days in advance
when the May vouchers were released, that was 13 days to today ... which meant I had to book the first train Sunday AM (0120) and then hopefully use the 2 hour rule to get the 2336 train tonight ....
then drive to Le Mans !

When I'm heading to the tunnel on my way back late in the evening, completely fed up about the end of an amazing trip and I see people heading into France I get SO jealous and I imagine how excited they must be, you are that bloke though thankfully I'm still here!I'll admit, tonights drive is far from ideal - but I used Tesco Clubcard vouchers to book eurotunnel, and you must book min 14 days in advance

Have a great, safe trip, the motorways were dead quiet in the north on Thursday but there were also plenty of cops on the motorway for some reason!
There's no drama with fuel around the Cannes, Nice, Monaco area except for the fact that on the Italian side of the A8 they wanted €2 a litre!

I made it to my hotel in Le Mans at 5am local time
Cruised at 85mph, roads were empty as you'd expect
So I did 460 miles in the first night, averaged 31mpg.
I'm just about to head out now to check out Le Mans 24hrs circuit and then hit the road down to Pau.
It's a 6hr drive but I've got an audio book to get through.
Weather is poor, so roof up.....but Pyrenees tomorrow !!

hey guys
made it to Pau !
did 400 miles today, all Autoroute, crusing at 70mph. the F-TYPE economy is ridiculous, I filled up before I left, and its covered 400 miles and still have just under a quarter of a tank and 85 miles on the range!
880 miles covered in 24hrs and the car says 32.9MPG !! in a 5.0 V8 !!
Although I have been driving all day, I have been listening to Sir Alex Ferguson - Leading on audio book. Its the first time I listened to an Audio book and its frankly amazing! Not once have I been bored.
When I got the Le Mans circuit, there was a group of Aston Martin UK owners just entering the gates, I tried to tag on the end but got pulled up ! They then proceeded to have a procession around the track! gits !
Weather in Le Mans this morning was poor, drizzly and raining ... It stayed like that until I got to South of Bordeaux and then the Southern European Sun came out ... I got the top down at a Peage and enjoyed the last 3 hours with the roof down in 20 degree sun shine.
So I am now in Pau, foot of the Pyrenees, and the mountains await tomorrow !! Cant wait.
From, here I have to catch a flight from Barcelona on Weds night, but other than that, no other itinerary, so can just enjoy it
For those doubters on the mileage, as I said, 880 done in 24hrs ... now I can enjoy the mountains !!
only a couple of crappy pics for now ... more to follow tomorrow, from the mountains
