Calais to Cognac

Heading down there on Saturday. Would idealyl like to not go through Paris but is the Le Mans route all peage now as it used to be A roads, partly single carriageway so was very slow.

Is this route now viable does anyone know?

Often complete a similar route albeit only to Samaur.

You'll easily avoid Paris by following the A28 & A10 route; but yes you are correct in thinking that this is all peage now. Only real hold ups on this route from experience is Rouen. Sadly however it is a fairly boring motorway route so unless you're willing to take a de-tour and / or less direct and time consuming route I'd suggest that the A28 - A10 as your best bet.
