Road trips near Liverpool
Discussion
Liverpool is handy for North Wales, about 30 - 40 mins away if you get up early enough (advised).
This 100 mile loop from Liverpool gets some good roads in (some duplicated roads on the run back, but they are good!:

Plenty of other roads off the above route, not sure on your time constraints though.
A few cafes too along the above route that will feed and water you:
Llyn Brenig,
Riverside Chocolate House,
National White Water Centre,
Conway Falls, and
Pont Yr Afon Gam (Opens at 10:00, March to October only)
It's getting greasy this time of year, so be aware, also for Sheep and plod. The A5 section is a particular hotspot for speed cameras.
A few gratuitous pics from when I did the route a couple of weeks back.
