Spain - Route Recommendations Please Zaragoza to Pamplona
Discussion
Hi,
I am planning a road trip over to Spain for June/ July this year.
We will be taking the ferry across to Santander and then driving down to Valencia and staying there for a few day before looping back to Santander for the ferry trip home.
Does anyone have any good indirect routes, taking in good driving roads and scenery from Zaragoza to Pamplona please (this will be en-route to the ferry on the return leg)? We would be looking to complete this distance in say around half a day with a stop for lunch. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

If you have the time, I know a lovely route back to Santander from Logrono.
Head west out of Logrono on to the N-232 (Stay off the autoroute AP-68) stay on this road until you meet the N-623 near the Embalse del Ebro (Which is a lake). Follow the N-623 for about twenty - 30 miles north to Santander..
Lovely lovely route that takes you through the Ebro Valley West of ONA.
Enjoy your trip

From Zaragoza I’d head northeast towards the Pyrenees then west over to Pamplona to find the driving roads. The area immediately surrounding Zaragoza is totally flat and therefore not brilliant for driving. Head to the hills for the great roads…as long you as stay off the autoroutes you'll have fun...on C and L roads in particular. N roads can be a mixed bag - for example the N-260 in the Pyrenees is mostly excellent and empty, but others can be quite heavily trafficked as N roads are all major thoroughfares.
Just starting to plan our route for this leg of the trip at the end of June.
Any other recommendations from anyone to add to those very useful comments above please?
We will be in a group of 5 Honda S2000's taking the ferry to Santander and travelling down to Valencia (staying for 3 nights) and back.
Cheers
