"Policija" cars suggest Montenegro or Serbia.

If it's the same one I'm thinking about it's the SS429 North out of Malcesine around Lake Garda.

My thoughts watching it again are the area north of Lake Garda, heading towards Slovenia - and again the Policija would tie in with that...
Cheers guys - found it on Maps - added to driving bucket list!!Googling for things like "top gear db11 policija" turns up an unusual number of .me domain (Montenegro) websites, and the articles therein mention filming at Lake Piva (which if I'm not mistaken, means Beer Lake - couldn't be better). Add in Montenegro to the search term, and then even more convincing evidence pops up:

OK, that also makes sense then;

I have to say, I've driven around Lake Garda and it didn't look familiar to me.
So, I had a look around and found this in Montenegro, and it looks much like one of the locations in the TG piece.
I've driven that road in Montenegro and its stunning, it runs alongside the lake through tunnels and clinging to the shore for miles. In fact many of the roads were amazing, we drove up from Kotor Bay to the north of the country, and once outside towns, there were loads of deserted driving roads, the bit in the middle reminded me very much of the Alps.So, I had a look around and found this in Montenegro, and it looks much like one of the locations in the TG piece.

We hired a car at Dubrovnik airport (Skoda Octavia and it was brilliant) and other than checking the cars papers at the Montenegro and Serbian borders we experienced no issues at all. The country is truly beautiful, quiet and unspoilt and as I said before the roads are amazing. We stayed a couple of days at the point where Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro meet as part of a 3 week holiday around Croatia and Montenegro. Some of the locals looking a bit "Deliverance" up there but everyone without exception was friendly.
