Having done it recently I have to admit I was quite dissapointed with "the triangle" and around, driven better (in my opinion) roads in the South of England... Mind you the B4391 before Ffestiniog was great. The B4407 horrible though, little visibility, narrow, rubbish surface.

The triangle isn't brillant on the bottom road. We usually just go up and down the two sides.

Having said that the Denbigh road side is brillant.

Would agree with Johnbear on that. Also, anticlockwise seems more enjoyable, or maybe thats just because of the view across the moors. Either way its still a great challenge and never ceases to amaze.

Now that you mention it, I realise I've never tried it clockwise! I usually include it when I go for a ride, and it is still awesome as the visibility is so great... I even got airborne for the first time last week! (flat bit in the hill up to the visitor's center thingy for those interested)

We went to the area in the summer but didn't check on here 1st and managed to miss the triangle banghead

We did a few of the others mentioned however and also B4391 and B4407 (see below). Absolutely awsome, left the other half a bit quite and pale though hehe

I think this thread is going to cost me some money in petrol!

I've got some holiday coming up and will probably walk up snowdon whilst I'm up there. Whats the ebst time of day to get the EVO triangle to myself?

Those pictures have tempted me to go on a 500 mile round trip. Can't wait! Will take my camera along too, as the scenery looks to good to forget.

Any recommendations on what day to go - i.e. when it's quiet? Also, I guess the weather will be an important factor wink

Weekdays are best. Whilst the tourist season is over you'll still get a few walkers pottering around along with some camper vans and bicyles at the weekend, along with the usual bikers.

Though the bikers tend to keep away from now on as there will pretty much be torrential rain for the next 3 months and they don't like it when it gets a bit damp...

With the weather in mind you're best heading up as soon as possible really, it's been pretty good up there recently, though it's also very unpredictable. Check out the Mountain Forecast for Snowdonia on the Met Office's website, it's as accurate as you'll get.

To be fair, grip isn't great in the dry, and with all these crests and dips (nearly got airborne once), I'm keeping away from the wet!

Brillant video, but you need to approach the B4407 from the opposite direction. The B4407 is a great road but the Evo is on another level. The western side can be taken at unbelievable speeds with experience but the road has to be watched. Ripped several bolts off the floor pan on the Cerb on the last North Wales hoon. Saw an A3 off the ground by a foot with a Gallardo on his tail on the last hoon yikes

I'll be running a mid November run on these roads if anyone is interested. Most likely date is the 17th Nov.

I'd definately be interested in a mini hoon. You should post in the events section!

Martin, we always get a few from the West Mids on Johnbear's legendary hoons, so you're welcome to join us on the run up there. We have a little convoy from Hilton Park to the main meeting point. I've been on the last 5 events and they're just an awesome day. Once you've been on one you're hooked.
John always posts the details in the TVR general section so keep tour eyes on there. It's not just TVR's on these runs you can turn up in anything with a bit of power. I intend to bring the 306 gti-6 next time to see how it performs on the evo. Hope you can make it.

Definately interested!! I'll keep my eyes out for it. I'm popping up to the evo triangle on the 25th or 26th of this month for a run anyway so should have a better chance of keeping up if I know the ground a bit better!

Mart

edit: just checked my calendar and im busy the weekend of the 17th and the one after. Maybe the next one!
