A Caterham Seven and a big red Clio 197 hit Wales.

We started in north Wales driving the Horseshoe Pass followed by a good few laps of the Evo Triangle. Then on to Aberwrystwith to camp for the night.

Second day started with the Elan Valley (mid Wales) and a visit to one of the near by reservoirs. Couldn't find the ever popular photographed one!

We then headed further south to the mountain passes of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

Friday had spitting rain for a short while but all in, brilliant weather and brilliant roads.

All pictures here with a good few displayed below.

Horsehose Pass.

Evo Triangle (not a very road related picture I'm afraid!)

Aberwrystwith - home for the night.

Elan Valley Reservoir.

Black Mountians

Cheers!

The outlook was looking rather worse for wear but it pulled it out of the hat in the end.

I'm doing something similar again and wondered what I missed out on.

We never found the often pictured Elan Valley dam.

Also, is Snowdonia worth a visit?

Hi Gingerbread Man
Love your photos above but, forgive me, i am not surprised you've not found 'the dam' as the lake photos you've put up are of Llyn Brianne which sits between Llanwrtyd Wells and Tregaron.
The Elan valley is further north as is the Claerwen valley which feeds in to the Elan valley system.
Any pointers for mid Wales ask and i'll be only too happy to help smile

^^^ that's the Claerwen
Hope that helps cool

I see that there is an MX5 run early September through Wales.

The dam we visited was still good, but not the popular one it seems.

If you only visit one place in Wales it has to be Snowdonia, that's where all the best roads are wink But off course you have to drive through lots of other decent areas of Wales to get there. But yet, certainly should be visited.
