How about this, leaving the M60 to join Princess Parkway in Manchester.

The slip road is still under motorway regs so you can legally keep 70. The corner slowly tightens, and then gets quite a bit sharper but remains a smooth curve, before giving you a high speed right/left switch biggrin The limit (although in my Honda Jazz so hardly an ideal car for this) is 65mph with a bit of a 4 wheel drift, but it's just been resurfaced a few weeks ago after some bridge repairs so the old broken and bumpy surface is now billiard table smooth!

The kink on the M40 between 8 and 9 is suprisingly tight at 150+ leptons.

I think the ones on the M62 over the tops can be particulary tight'ish.
Not really any thing at normal speeds, but if your just passing throgh at 150 leptons, then hold tight !

The A75 Autoroute just North of Millau is very entertaining with lots of really tight curves.

Edited: sorry missed the OP's UK reference....

Pretty sure the M90 curve is the tightest. Its also a well steep gradient too.

Travelling southbound a few years back I had to pull in and call the emergency services for a caravan which completely lost it on the northbound curve (downhill tight curve).

Its still got a 70mph limit and to be honest its fine - just relies on people being aware of what their car is capable of - most people seem to take it easy as the steepness makes the curve obvious.

I would guess its the M53 around Ellesmere Port. Sure that road shouldn't be a motorway!

That bend is very fun. 1.1 leptons easily possible.

Also a foreign reference, the A10 Autostrada along the Itlian Riveria (French border towards the East) is a 3 lane Autostrada with some extreme bends.

I often saw cars leaving the outside lane, cutting the apex on the inside lane and back out on some of the tight bends eek

Maybe the M4 near Newport?
I live just off J28 of the M4 by these bends and the first left hander when heading Westbound can be quite epic, as not only is it relatively tight it is downhill and off camber. Its the only bend on any motorway i've driven where the traction control light has flickered!

The M606 northbound towards Bradford off the M62.

And yes it IS motorway, not a slip road.

Yes, I came in here to mention this, great piece of road.

Although if I remember right the best part was before Milau.

If we're going European, there some great bends on the E42 around Verviers in Belgium. The amount of paint on the solid concrete central reservation would appear to indicate a number of 'moments' around these bends!

if we are including junctions id say M25 anticlockwise entering northbound M11. its sooooo much fun when no one is around wink

ive managed to hold 70 through there, but had to apex the corners which i wouldnt recommend doing too often just incase someone is looking at the cameras.

If you try to go round this at any more than 40mph you will go off the outside.
