Went with the Lotus 7 Club in my Caterham to the Isle Of Man last weekend. We were invited by the IOM club members - super group of guys. Besides about 20+ Caterhams touring the island we also blatted along the TT course. Going through built up areas it's 20, 30, 50 MPH. Derestricted areas are ... how fast can you go, no speed limit! Going over the mountain from Ramsey to Creg Ny Baa was a moment I will never forget! Anyone thinking about doing it, just do it.

How much is the ferry over there? Quite a lot from what I checked when I considered it...

I had a look at going over earlier this year but as you say the ferry prices were very high.

John I know you had a great time as I have already seen Ian's (Cockney Devil - Krypton Green Exige S) pictures.

The ferry was £215 from Liverpool for the car, two passengers, reserved seats and all fuel charges, however the roads are super!

I went over a couple of years back and a group of us are back over there in October. Just one word of caution! I have heard through a VERY reliable source that the police have had some issues with groups from the mainland going over and upseting the locals! Dangerous overtakes, not respecting the posted limits, wrong side of road ON bends & the like. We have found the locals to be very accomodating and tolorent so they must be some stupid things going on to make them bring it to the BIB's attention!

Have fun

It's a great place for driving, even in a mundane car, there's a great sense of freedom, and some brilliant roads.

I was working there for the Rally last month, looking forward to going again.
