Best route - Bournemouth to Llandudno?
Discussion
Looking for advice on the best route to get to Llandudno from Bournemouth next Friday?
Last time, we went A34, M40, M42, M6 toll etc etc - took bloody hours!
Would I be better off getting into Wales around Hereford area and heading up through Wales?
Planning on leaving Bournemouth around 11am!
TIA

The route you took is most likely the quickest if you can traverse the M42 / M6 toll / M6 section without problems, its hellishly boring though. I wouldn't aim to save much time but the following route strikes me as a more pleasurable drive whilst sticking to 'main' roads:
Bournemouth - Salisbury - Swindon (A338)
Swindon - Gloucester - Ledbury - Leominster (A419/A417)
Leominster - Shrewsbury (A49)
Shrewsbury - Chester (A5 / A483)
Then up the A55

Cheers - I will take a look at that route on a map tomorrow. That was the sort of route I was thinking !Bournemouth - Salisbury - Swindon (A338)
