Up there quite a lot, nice run for me too....
What, this road?ETA: In a moment of spectacular stupidity I didn't realise the Griff you 'knew of' for sale was yours! Chim looks good.

Hi Chris, not looking for a Chim are you? I've got a massive hankering for one of these...

Not just yet! I think that a Chim or Griff will be the next toy - happy with the Caterham for a while, it goes and handles superbly, but it's just not quite the same as a TVR. Definitely feeling withdrawl symptoms.http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1143056.htm

PS Did yours find the new (well, new-looking) surface at the top of the A4069 a bit uncomfortable? From the valley and uphill to a mile or two past the famous bend mine behaved well, but at the top there's a different type of tarmac which is very dark with lighter flecks in it, and it didn't feel very secure there at all, especially on the more cambered sections.
Know what you mean. I'm never brave enough to push it too hard up there. There's some scary corners on both sides. Have you done Pembrey yet? They've got the same tarmac as Silverstone, special expensive grippy stuff apparently. Only Pembrey & Silverstone have it according to them. It came to drizzle quite heavily half way through the session & I didn't feel any twitches at all so it does seem very good.

I know my Focus wasnt quite the beast that your TVRS are but I found the road on top of the A4069 to have a stange feel to it. I had Toyo proxeys on my old car and on the old tarmac it felt great but on the newer stuff it felt very vague and almost springy though the steering Allyc85 said:

Yep, just felt slippery - like the (already significant) negative camber had been exagerated quite a lot. Just took it easy along that bit. Ironically my mate in a Fiat Panda (to be fair it was the slightly sporty one...) was lapping it up, but he had extemely expensive Michelins on there. pwd95 said:

Not for a long time, went down there a couple of times when I lived in Swansea, but haven't been there since about 2003. On a completely random note (and without a hint of grippy tarmac) I did enjoy Llandow tremendously for what's basically a glorified oval.Gassing Station | Roads | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
