i know the fleet is a little unusual, but they were all rentals and hence faster than anything else (astramax van included) in any post above....honest

I've seen the photo of it sat with damaged bumpers halfway down the bank and there's another one of it being pulled back up onto the A4069, presumably by one of the other cars there.

As for the driver, his nan's probably banned him from using her car for a week hehe

Wow, if ever there was a video to demonstrate what target fixation is, that's it.

went down there a few weeks ago. far better roads around south wales and evo triangle is alot better to drive, wider and less traffic. quick snap :-)

Went for a spin yesterday, went via Rhigos then A4069 and finally onto Llyn Brianne/Devils Staircase.

The Rhigos mountain road is in the process of being resurfaced at the moment. Doesn't stop van drivers from doing 60mph+ though, nice driving indeed.

A4069 also being worked on near Brynamman, diggers in the road working on the ditches. So not the best run. However, the last part of my journey over to Llyn Brianne was good and nice and clear.

Decided to go for a drive to this bend on Thursday as we were camping nearby (ish... well, <2 hours away). Unfortunately the weather was far from ideal but it was still fun.

Go to the Nurburg area, nigh on all the back roads have bends like the one featured, and the road surfaces are brilliant.

Interesting you should say that. I was less than impressed when I drove the Evo triangle and enjoyed the Black Mountain far more. each to their own, I guess! Also traffic didn't count as I was in the same 27-car convoy for both! biggrin

Remember that well Martinthumbup I agree with that having driven both also (does help when you live only 30mins away from the black mountains thoughhehe)

Went over this (southbound) pass a week ago Saturday. Beautiful sun, about 3 oncoming vehicles in total, one suicidal sheep (caused the van ahead of me to brake hard, sheep survived, and I overtook the van soon later anyway). Excellent road, even in the 1.2 Corsa with a lot of stuff in the back (was en route to a holiday in Wales).

Might make it a regular part of the drive from Bedfordshire to Pembrokeshire. Hopefully I'll take something better up there next time though!
