I can't see why people would think you need to go that fast to enjoy the Black Mountain. It's good fun at half that speed IMO. What a prat.Which way did you go? South from Llangadog, or north from Brynamen?
The way you round one of the corners in the trees going south, to see the rocks and that brook in that valley (the one that goes under the little bridge) was bloody brilliant first time I went. Real "woah" moment actually.

I'd imagine it is?
I'm sure there's pay at pump there anyway?
worked out ok in the end thanks. Refueled at cheltenham prior to crossing into wales in the end. Unfortunately don't have a picture around the a4069 as it was absolutely bucketing with rain and I didn't manage to get a decent picture without rain drops on my phone. Brilliant fun though, the a4069 and a lot of surrounding roads plus pretty much had the place to myself today!I'm sure there's pay at pump there anyway?
No photos but a video from the road
The boyz were up there so stopping for shots overlooking the bend were a no-go but we had a clean run other than the Pug at the end

Went up there on Dec 29th. Pouring rain and road was extremely wet!
The plan was for our group - Aero/me in Plus8/Mx5's/Caterham to go to Llyn Brianne.
Roads were flooded near Llandovery so rather than risk back roads we returned back over to Ammanford for a chinese lunch.
Despite the weather it was a great drive.
The Caterham driver turned back before we got to the top as his fabulous soft top was like a sieve!
It's not often the roof is up on the Morgan but that day was a necessity!

Hope the link works.
I haven't sussed how to paste a photo yet.

I tried to find the ''mountain bend'' in this and got lost, but somehow ended up here!!! I drove from Swansea and somehow missed the whole mountain, I am gutted tbh as I ended up finding all this amazing scenery instead!!!Look familiar Mr white Impreza ;-) This was later after getting lost trying to search for the bend!
here was some of the others on route to no where!!! Well it was a fun day and I need to go back this year to find it!!!
Proper tires and suspension for these mountain valley roads
The funniest thing was being stopped by the Police and explaining the reason for being there, was to find the mountain!!! The Welsh police are very friendly especially if you appear not to be local and have a powerful car with no front number plate!!!
2013 I'll be lucky and find it in the M3 track car!!!
