Suggestions for trip to wales
Discussion
Hi guys going from Norwich to Wales (Hollyhead) at the weekend, was jut wondering if you could suggest some roads I should take on my way to Hollyhead, ive had a look at some of the things mentioned in another wales post but was hoping for some suggestions that would be easy to incorprate on the route to hollyhead
OK. If you want to get there quickly use the motorway network and come in along the North Wales coast M56, A55.
If you want to enjoy cracking scenery, some pleasant roads and be constantly stuck behind stuff you need to overtake then M54 to the A5 and come in through the mountains. It passes by the Evo triangle but goes directly to Holyhead.

If you have plenty of time I'd suggest you get yourself to Llangollen then:
take the A542 over the Horseshoe Pass
A525 to Ruthin
B5105 to the evo Triangle
do a lap of that
then A543/544/548 back to the A5
You'll avoid the worst of the traffic on a route like that but you're guaranteed to spend time behind tractors and Micras here and there! Shouldn't be too bad at this time of year though.

You will be coming across country either Chester way or Birmingham way. I would suggest Birmingham as if your going to Shrewsbury towards mid wales and up to Holyhead across some A roads rather than A55 which is very boring.
Ofcourse the Evo triangle is a must but so are some of the less known mid wales roads and some coast roads arond caernarfon. Keep a good map with you, have an adventure keep heading west and north and you should have some fun.
