Probably! It's a long time since I was last through it, and I didn't dare going much past a fast walking pace.

I was hoping the Pulpit Rock roadworks on Loch Lomond/A82 would produce a nice tunnel but the cheapo stilts solution Transport Scotland have picked will not only be an astonishingly ugly lump of concrete in the National Park, it will close the road for 3+ months. frown

Have a look at the location of the "Manifold Valley" tunnel on that map. I pity anyone who drives up there looking for it.

Can't find any way to edit the map, though, only the description.

You need a google account; open the tunnels map, click on the 'edit' button, then right clicking on the desired location brings up a menu for you to add a place mark.

This ones alright for a quick 1st 2nd launch. Nice and narrow. There's a school at one end though, so be careful when you do it, and a certain welsh winger lives down the other end laugh

The map is completely borked frown

I don't know if something at Google has changed, or if someone has deleted most of the content.

Nice to see someone's finally remembered the Clyde tunnel .

And seeing that reminded me of another one in years gone by
Found evidence of it's existence in http://www.sunnygovan.com/PLACES/Clyde/ClydeTunnel...
"Of the two tunnels built under the River Clyde only one of them is still operational.
The Harbour Tunnel, built in the 19th century, was closed in 1980 but the Clyde Tunnel remains popular."

I seem to remember it was a lot shorter than the Clyde tunnel and more to the city centre than the existing one . All the information on other sites mentions a pedestrian /cycle tunnel at the Harbour .

Longest tunnel in UK now open: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

Enjoy - and go make some noise!
Just a minor point, it's not the longest tunnel in the UK, I think that honour belongs to the Queensway tunnel (2.01 miles) under the river Mersey.

The Hindhead tunnel, at 1.2 miles appears to be the longest underland tunnel in the UK...

There's 1 on the A50 in Stoke at Meir. It's dual carriageway with no cameras etc but it's not very long, 200m maybe.

I've added this little gem. The Google Streetview car didn't dare to enter...

I've been through that one. Although you'll be too busy minding your mirrors and paintwork on the sides of the tunnel than concentrating on making any noise! Its even worse if you go through it at night.
