I needed to visit Lampeter in Wales so decided to drive my 911 over. Wow, what a drive. I had forgotten how few people there are in Wales and how nice the roads are.

From Nottingham the first half of the journey is just annoying motorway, but once off it and onto the A roads (A40 mostly) the driving is fun. Nice swooping curves, some faster sections and plenty of passing places for when you meet the inevitable slower car.

Though I'd have to say that most slower cars I encountered turned off before I needed to pass them. Local traffic presumably.

I stayed at the Falcondale Mansion Hotel in Lampeteer which turned out to be a really nice hotel. But I am glad my car is the Carrera S, not the GT3, because they have some quite fierce speed bumps. I reckon anyhthing really low would ground on the half mile private drive to the hotel.

It's a journey I'd like to do again. In fact it is so nice I might consider doing is again and staying at the same hotel just as a weekend break.
